Why Less Than Expert?
Why Less Than Expert? Because living life in general is an educational course, but there are some things I wish I’d known along the way. From relationships to pregnancy and pregnancy loss, health issues, money, work, crippling anxiety, aging parents, family trauma drama and all the things in between…I’ve lived it - am living it - and learned from it.
I’ve had the domain lessthanexpert.com for years thanks to a fun, wine-fueled dinner party back in 2019. I joked with my husband about being a jack of all trades and master of none…less than expert, if you will. We all had a good laugh and I bought the domain on the spot. The potential of what that could be has always stayed with me, and the more trial and error I’ve gone through in the life, the more loudly I’d hear a little reminder in my head about this domain.
Fast forward to 2025, and that little voice is pretty much my daily sidekick. Not to mention, I’ve been dealing with some unforeseen changes at work and deep down, I know that my 12 years of living, laughing, loving with this company will likely come to an end. It’s amazing what you’re able to accomplish when frustrated enough (is that just me?) I’ve been workshopping the idea of a podcast and website to some friends and coworkers, and it’s been generally well-received.
In fact, my partner in crime, Katie Herman, is one of those fabulous people I ran it by. Not only that, but she asked to be a part of it, and I obviously jumped at the chance to work with her on this. Katie has been my sounding board, a confidant, and life sherpa the last few years. She’s helped me through pregnancies, pregnancy loss, work drama, and day to day life in ways I didn’t even know I would need but have. She’s shown me how to be a better friend and show up for people when they don’t know they need it or don’t know how to ask. I’ll never be able to properly thank her for being the kind of friend she is, but I do hope to create some fun here and very much hope I can actually pay her in cash money for this as well (manifesting, manifesting, manifesting…)
My goal with Less Than Expert is to create a relatable, understandable, and (hopefully) entertaining resource that brings some value to you. I am not the expert, but I am resourceful and very good at sharing. Xoxo
